Welcome to The French Flat — a luxuriously oversized apartment in the heart of downtown Frederick. With soaring ceilings, massive windows, and dramatic French Chic design touches throughout, this light-filled space is perfect for couples, solo travelers, and weekenders looking to unwind in style. You’ll sleep soundly in a plush king bed with room-darkening curtains. The fully equipped kitchen is ideal for dining in, complete with high-end cookware, a cocktail set, filtered water, and full dishware and glassware for wine, whiskey, or water. Need to reset? Enjoy fast Wi-Fi, a record player, and a beautiful living space anchored by a one-of-a-kind custom fireplace in deep green and gold. We’ve stocked the bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion, and Q-tips for a hotel-like experience. Guests have exclusive access to the unit (no shared spaces inside) and can park for free right outside on 5th Street. As with most downtown locations, parking can be limited at peak times. Free street parking is available, but you may need to walk 5–10 minutes if spots directly in front are full. Please consider this when choosing our home — most guests find the short walk a small trade-off for staying in the heart of Frederick. Quiet, house-trained and friendly dogs welcome (must be included in reservation).

Free street parking is available on 5th Street—no permit needed, just mind the no parking dates and times. The unit is pet-friendly (dogs only) and we provide a vacuum and lint roller to help keep things tidy. You’ll enter through a shared building lobby, but the apartment itself is completely private. We’ve stocked a pack-and-play and adjustable high chair—no request needed, just help yourself. This is a historic building, so you may notice some charming quirks—like creaky floors or imperfect plaster—alongside the brand-new finishes. The unit has central air and heat, so you’ll be comfortable year-round. Please note, we’ve chosen not to include a toaster in this unit because we maintain strict food-safety and cleanliness standards between guest stays. The kitchen includes a full oven, microwave, air fryer, and cookware for easy meal prep.

No parties or events. No smoking or vaping inside the home. Quiet hours from 10pm–8am to respect neighbors. Pets welcome! Please pick up after them and keep them off the furniture unless covered. No unauthorized guests. All visitors must be included in the reservation. Please treat the home with care. Report any damage or issues so we can keep the space beautiful for everyone. Violation of house rules may result in fees or cancellation of your reservation.

We loved staying at Laura's place! As a host, Laura was very communicative and responsive, giving us recommendations about things to do during our stay. Throughout our visit, she provided a number of updates and checked in to make sure everything was good. Laura's place was exactly like the photos, spotless, and had all of the amenities we needed. The location was superb, easy to get around, with so many great restaurants and shops all within blocks. When we are back in town, we will always try to stay here!

Find us

Street parking is available on 5th Street. Just mind the no parking days and times. Metered parking is available on Market Street and is free on Saturday evening and all day Sunday. Once at the home, there is no need to drive to any downtown location as the home is in a very walkable location!
